Kraimorie is an apartment hotel located at the Black sea coastline close to the city of Burgas. The idea for the building is to curate a spatial experience with different degrees of openness by employing a structural system that liberates the east /sea-facing/ facade of structural elements. The off-center structural core is also a boundary for the service spaces for the apartments, which optimizes execution of systems and installations. The facade draws inspiration from the material presence of the region’s traditional houses, characterized by a heavy stone masonry base and wood-cladded top floors.
